The dream of creating Western Australia's first long-distance off-road cycling trail took shape through the efforts dedicated volunteers and visionary government and community representatives. The Munda Biddi Trail Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation that was formed to assist the Department of Conservation and Land Management and other land managers get the trail project off the ground, and it continues to be involved in trail development and planning.

Today the Foundation represents the community that will use the trail. It is a "friends of the trail" group that enlists paid memberships while also tending to the business of fundraising, sponsorship, and community liaison. The Foundation is responsible for raising community awareness of the trail, promoting its use by residents and visitors, and planning and participating in special trail events. It's the primary role of the organisation to get cyclists using the trail and to provide facilities and resources to ensure that it is a quality experience for everyone involved.
