Over the weekend 10 amazing volunteers joined the Foundation and the Department of Parks and Wildlife for a Trail Maintenance Training Workshop near Dwellingup.
Participants rode the old Waterous Trail to the Bidjar Ngoulin Hut which had previously suffered damage in the Yarloop bushfires. At the hut, the group cleared and re-established tent sites and surrounding paths.
Volunteers learnt about different aspects of hut maintenance and how to minimise bushfire risks. Extra training was also provided to our Sector Leaders.
The workshop was a great opportunity for both new and experienced volunteers to connect, share stories and meet other people with a common passion. Thank you to everyone for joining us, with a special mention to Vicki and Mike who travelled up from Albany to be a part of the day!
